My name is Sherwin Long, I'm an illustrator born and raised in Boston. I graduated with a BFA in illustration from Massachusetts College of Art. I have a passion and an obsession with drawing. My mind is filled with a great imagination so I want to share my vision with the world. My philosophies and daily personal interactions fuel the direction of my work so hopefully as you fly away with me you will grasp some of who I am. I was introduced to art by graffiti and murals in my community. I was always amazed at the colors and imagination. I grew up in the city in Dorchester and art was a blessing that kept me constructive. My inspiration stems from hiphop music, spirituality, architecture, mythology, and poetry. When I paint or draw I am filled with so much emotion that I exude on the canvas with the energy of my line work and color schemes. I enjoy using all mediums but my top three are Acrylic, Charcoal, Watercolor, and spray paint. I enjoy creating art because it is one of the few ways I gain some peace and relaxation, it allows me to free myself from the confines of reality and get lost in my own universe where I command time and space.
